The AIDS Walk Colorado - A Festival for Life and 5k Walk/Run - is only one month away, and the department’s AIDS Walk Team needs you! The event will take place Aug. 18 and will include food trucks, beer gardens, entertainment as well as family and kid-friendly activities. The 5K race and walk begins at 8:30 a.m.  You can join the department’s official AIDS Walk Team in one of two ways:

1. Contact Christopher Grano at extension 2729, and he can help you get registered.
2. Register on The Aids Walk Colorado website. Click on "Walk or Run.” You then can register and join the department’s team.

There is no expectation for department staff to fundraise in order to participate. That being said, there were 25 gung-ho CDPHEers last year who raised several thousand dollars in support of Colorado-based HIV/AIDS service organizations. Go team!
The 5K walk is free, so please invite friends and family to join the department’s team as well.  For you runners and volleyball champions, there is a 5K race and a volleyball tournament. Both include registration fees; participants receive a t-shirt.

In just 90 seconds, you can learn the two simple steps to Hands-Only CPR. Click here to watch the Hands-Only CPR video

In an effort to increase CPR awareness and education, the American Heart Association is giving away 200 free CPR Anytime Kits. If interested, kits will be available at the AHA office (1777 S. Harrison St. Suite 500, Denver, CO 80210) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday (June 4-7). The kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
