Wellness Policy:
CDPHE encourages all of its employees to engage in a regular program health improvement activities, such as walking, jogging, swimming, bicycling, yoga, meditation, stretching, relaxation, weight-control programs, preventive health screening, or other approved activities. Supervisors are encouraged to grant two 15-minute wellness breaks per day (or one 30 minute wellness break per day) to employees to encourage participation in such activities. Certain restrictions apply, please see the full Wellness Break Policy for details.

  • Check Change Control - Check, Change, Control is a hypertension awareness program available to the public. CDPHE has blood pressure cuffs available to all employees located in break rooms.  
  • Family Friendly Workplace - Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) values family friendly policies and practices that make it possible for our employees to maintain work life balance. CDPHE embraces an all inclusive workforce and has put into place policies that can work for any family type. CDPHE receive recognition as a Family Friendly +++ organization through Health Links Colorado in 2017.
  • Mindfulness Meditation - You can learn more about mindfulness meditation through a number of resources online. CDPHE periodically will offer training sessions.  Meditation cushions are available in the Wellness Room.
  • Weigh and WinWeigh and Win is a low cost program available to the public.  Participate in challenges, earn money for achieving or maintaining a healthy weight. Multiple kiosks around Colorado. CDPHE's Kiosk formally in the cafeteria is looking for a new home - stay tuned for updates in the summer of 2021.
